VMR Protocol Converter FAQ
Why is my battery light flashing every 1 second ?
If your alternator and battery are functioning properly, then it’s likely that the unit is not receiving CAN communication. Verify that your CANH and CANL wires are properly connected. Additionally, for ECUs with CAN configuration, ensure that the baud rate is correctly set.
Why is it not working ?
Most likely improper installation
Does this have a CAN termination resistor
There is a built in 120Ω termination resistor, unless you request that it be removed.
Haltech PNP
Verify Haltech System bus selection includes Main Connectors. If you have a wideband in your AUX port than you would select Both Main and AUX Connectors.
For physical AVI5 inputs as A/C request set Switch On Voltage to 0 volts and Switch Off Voltage to 4.5v, Enable Pull Up
A/C Output on the PNP is generally DPO 3 as a low side, please verify with your documentation.
For IOBox B emulated A/C input set A/C request switch to AVI1 of the IOBox B. Off voltage is 0v and on in 5v, so you can set to 1 and 4, or whatever works.
Basic Troubleshooting
DTM 6 Pin ECU side
Verify DTM pins 1 (12V) to 6 (GND) provide switched 12v
Verify DTM pin 3 SEFMJ runs to OEM pin E24 Yellow on 01-04 or E13 Yellow on 05-06 model years (Verify with your own wiring diagram)
Verify DTM pin 2 CANH runs to Haltech superseal 26 pin conector B23
Verify DTM pin 5 CANL runs to Haltech superseal 26 pin conector B24
Verify DTM pin 4 runs to AVI5 superseal 26 pin conector B20 or other selected input.
(This is a low side trigger, enable pull-up)
